CANON DENIS - UPDATE
As most of you will know by now Canon Denis is currently in hospital in Bedford. He went in on the 18th February following a few weeks of being quite unwell. It transpired that he was suffering from a serious kidney disfunction and associated disorders.
We are pleased to say that the treatment he received in the Critical Care Unit appears to have been successful and he is feeling much better, if still very debilitated. At present the hospital are preparing to move him out of the Critical Care Unit and into a general ward. It is uncertain how much longer he will need to be in hospital, but it is certain that once he comes home he will require considerable rest and recuperation. He sends his blessings and thanks for our prayers, and asks us to maintain him in our prayers.
Further updates will be provided as matters progress.

PAPAL VISIT
During the recent Ad Limina Visit, the Holy Father announced his forthcoming trip to the UK, possibly sometime in September 2010. Sadly there is already opposition headed by the Secular Society of Great Britain to this visit. The Secular Society have an online petition which has already attracted over 20.000 signatures and yet a petition supporting the visit only has 4,000 signatures.
You are asked to visit the website and sign the supporting petition as we welcome the Holy Father to our country.

Please support this and spread it to others who may not know, by e-mail, word of mouth, put it in your local newsletter, whatever, I am sure we could beat their number if we try.
